Irish Schools

How are our Irish schools?

Here are some examples which will show you why Irish education is respected worldwide.

Our Schools...

Thankfully, Irish schools are held in high esteem throughout the world. While most were founded by various Catholic religious orders, it is not necessary to be a Catholic to attend. In this sense these schools are similar to the typical "Consertados" we see in Spain. These are for example purposes as a reflection of the general standards available.

Boys only Secondary School

The Christian Brothers secondary school

This school which is located near the town centre was founded by the Christian Brothers, which is a Catholic order of monks. They first started teaching in 1862 and while there are no more brothers teaching there now, the school itself is managed under the care of Bishop Michael Smith. Like other religious schools, students do not have to be Catholic to attend and an enviroment of openness and tolerance exists to anyone from a different faith.

This school enjoys a "fine tradition of excellence in the provision of a full and rounded education for boys, which includes the religious, moral, intellectual, physical and social development of the student."
